7/1/2023 0 Comments Resilio sync backup![]() ![]() What shall I do to make it keep transferring and preferably at a higher speed? Shall I try other software? Or is TS 228 incapable to do such backup? Restarting the NAS or even restart the Resilio Sync app on NAS makes it starts transferring again and sustain for another 10 minutes. ![]() ![]() The speed (10-20MB/s) is unexpectedly dropping gradually and it is not transferring anything around 10 minutes later. Guess this is due to small files which it finished loading a file and waiting for the next one. It is transferring 10-20MB/s for a second or 2 and drop to 0B/s for a second or 2. I am using Resilio Sync (which i had good experiences on my 2 PCs and phone) to transfer ~4TB of mixed sizes (from bytes size text files to disk image of hundred GBs) files to the NAS. Tested its speed it reaches a respectable ~40 MB/s for a continuous transfer on Windows Explorer(SMB?). I know that it is not a Lamborghini and I just needa get moving. I recently got a used QNAP TS-228 at a dirt cheap price. Just make sure to tag the post with the flair and give a little background info/context. Among us are represented the various reasons to keep data - legal requirements, competitive requirements, uncertainty of permanence of cloud services, distaste for transmitting your data externally (e.g. So it appears the same local database data used to recreate a dlist file can also be used to supplement a restore as long as we can get past the backend-verification step.We are digital librarians. Can be regenerated with a database Repair. Will cause a restore of that version to FAIL with a “Found1 files that are missing” error unless no-backend-verification=true is in the job config. Will NOT stop the version from being listed in a Job based restore but WILL stop it from being listed in a “Direct” restore.OK - I tested (see below) and can state that with 2.0.3.9 a missing dlist file: Really? I could have sworn I tested a missing dlist file scenario and a database Repair rebuild it (as I assume a Recreate would).īut I may be mis-remembering - I’ll try to remember to retest that situation at some point. If one of the dlist files are lost, then that “snapshot” is no longer available. If you want to see what it’s like when that happens I’d suggest creating a test backup (just a few files to a local folder), delete one of the Duplicati files and see what happens. Of course for some file types they’ll be unusable, but for others useful information could still be recovered. Note that Duplicati CAN restore from a backup even with missing dblock files - it will simply restore whatever it can and fill in the “missing” parts of the restored files with 0. If a dblock file is missing or corrupt then some backup data has been lost and there’s little Duplicati can do about it other than to pretend the corrupted versions no longer exist and continue on. If an old backup is corrupted / missing in some way then uploading a new backup “on top” of it wouldn’t do you any good because the new backup might not be restorable since the old backup (containing some of the data needed for restore) isn’t viable. Since new backups only upload what’s changed since the last backup Duplicati relies on the old backups for the unchanged parts of the files. It works this way because of Duplicati’s versioning process. If they are dindex or dlist files then Duplicati will just recreate them, but if they are dblock files it won’t start any new backups until the issue is resolved (or you tell Duplicati to ignore the problem). Will Duplicati know that some files are missing and start a new backup to fix the trouble, or will all be lost?ĭuplicati will know some files are missing. ![]()
